Abstract

A motion interactive video recording and scanning mechanism and system. A scanning and recording device is configured to capture a 360.degree. HD video with infrared emitters, image sensors and optical character recognition for detecting motion and precision of a fighter's movements while engaged in a fighting match. At least one 360.degree. HD video camera is provided. A pair of smart UFC official fight and boxing gloves has a removable, personalized wrist pulse tracker configured to track, analyze, and interpret the fighter's specific heart rate and vital signs. training and fight smart gear and equipment configured to send a wireless signal of statistical data received from the pair of smart pro series Mixed Martial Arts gloves, a pair of smart boxing gloves, a smart punching bag, a smart protective cup system, a smart protective headgear, smart Thai pads, a smart focus mitt, or a smart hand wrap. Claims



1. A motion interactive video recording and scanning mechanism and system comprising: a) a scanning and recording device configured to capture a 360.degree. HD video with infrared emitters, image sensors and optical character recognition for detecting motion and precision of a fighter's movements while engaged in a fighting match; b) at least one 360.degree. HD video camera; c) a pair of smart UFC official fight and boxing gloves; and d) a removable, personalized wrist pulse tracker configured to track, analyze, and interpret said fighter's specific heart rate and vital signs, said personalized wrist pulse tracker being operatively connected to the wrist area of said smart UFC official fight and boxing gloves.

The motion interactive video recording and scanning mechanism and system as recited in claim 1, further comprising: e) a plurality of training and fight smart gear and equipment configured to send a wireless signal of statistical data received from at least one of the group comprising: said pair of smart pro series Mixed Martial Arts gloves, a pair of smart boxing gloves, a smart punching bag, a smart protective cup system, a smart protective headgear, smart Thai pads, a smart focus mitt, and a smart hand wrap outfitted with sensors, a personalized wrist pulse tracker and structured with an inner layer of weaved conductive threads.

The motion interactive video recording and scanning mechanism and system as recited in claim 1, further comprising: e) artificial intelligence software to count and decipher the number of strikes thrown and landed by each individual fighter, the part of the fighter's body on which the strike landed, and the speed and power of each strike that landed.

4. The motion interactive video recording and scanning mechanism and system as recited in claim 1, further comprising: e) hand-held scanning and recording devices operatively connected to said at least one 360.degree. HD video camera.

5. The motion interactive video recording and scanning mechanism and system as recited in claim 1, wherein said at least one 360.degree. HD video camera is suspended above a boxing ring.

6. The motion interactive video recording and scanning mechanism and system as recited in claim 1, wherein said at least one 360.degree. HD video camera is attached to at least one corner post of a boxing ring.

7. The motion interactive video recording and scanning mechanism and system as recited in claim 2, wherein said wireless signal of statistical data is transmitted to a video monitor.

8. The motion interactive video recording and scanning mechanism and system as recited in claim 1, wherein said pair of smart UFC official fight and boxing gloves comprises sensors and scanners.

9. The motion interactive video recording and scanning mechanism and system as recited in claim 1, further comprising sensors and scanners installed in or around a boxing ring and octagon for tracking, scanning, and recording movements of said fighter.

10. The motion interactive video recording and scanning mechanism and system as recited in claim 9, wherein tracked and scanned movements of said fighters are transmitted and stored in video game consoles to be recreated or converted into a video game for future use.

11. The motion interactive video recording and scanning mechanism and system as recited in claim 3, wherein said software slows, stops, or pauses said fighter's movements.

RELATED PATENT APPLICATION

[0001] This application is related to copending U.S. provisional patent application no. 62/392,808 for MOTION INTERACTIVE VIDEO RECORDING AND SCANNING MECHANISM AND SYSTEM FOR INTERPRETING AND TRANSMITTING THE STRIKING STYLE AND PATTERN OF A FIGHTER IN A MIXED MARTIAL ARTS AND BOXING MATCH, filed Jul. 8, 2016 and hereby incorporates the teaching therein by reference. The priority date of the aforementioned application is hereby claimed.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0002] The present invention relates to motion interactive video recording and scanning mechanisms and, more particularly, to a scanning and recording device to capture a 360.degree. HD video for detecting motion and precision of a fighter's movements while engaged in a fighting match.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0003] Throughout the long history of the Mixed Martial Arts and Boxing industry, there has been a constant quest for improving, simplifying, and accelerating the way in which statistical data in a fighting match is collected, analyzed, interpreted, and delivered to spectators, fans at home, athletes, trainers, judges, and sports commentators. This is evidenced by the rapid transition that has been made from the old-fashioned way of providing statistical data to more advanced systems, mechanisms, and gadgets, such as the use of personalized fitness and health trackers such as Fitbit, Jawbone, Basis, the Apple Watch, smart clothes, smart sports gear, apps, and sophisticated camera systems.

[0004] Despite the rapid advances that have been made to fill the gap within this industry through the use of personalized fitness gadgets, smart clothes, and smart sports gear, no current process, system, method, or mechanism offers spectators, fans, athletes, trainers, judges, and sports commentators real time analysis of statistical data in a fighting match that can be effectively used to obtain round-by-round results of a fighter's performance during training or during an actual fight in real time to help improve his striking style and coaching. The inventive mechanism and system allows fans in the audience watching the fight or from their respective homes to receive the collected and interpreted statistical data on a smartphone and a fitness system in real time via an app to track the number of strikes thrown and landed by each fighter, the speed and power of each strike, and the part of the body on which the fighter has been struck. The mechanism and system also tracks the fighter's unique heart rate and other vital signs during a training session or an actual fight. Statistical data can also be shown on big-screen monitors around the arena for spectators to see.

[0005] It would be advantageous to provide a mechanism and system to improve, simplify, and accelerate the way statistical data in a fighting match is collected, analyzed, and interpreted in order to provide a detailed reading of the number of strikes thrown and landed by a Mixed Martial Arts fighter and boxer in real time.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] In accordance with the present invention there is provided a motion interactive video recording and scanning mechanism and system. A scanning and recording device is configured to capture a 360.degree. HD video with infrared emitters, image sensors and optical character recognition for detecting motion and precision of a fighter's movements while engaged in a fighting match. At least one 360.degree. HD video camera is provided. A pair of smart UFC official fight and boxing gloves has a removable, personalized wrist pulse tracker configured to track, analyze, and interpret the fighter's specific heart rate and vital signs. training and fight smart gear and equipment configured to send a wireless signal of statistical data received from the pair of smart pro series Mixed Martial Arts gloves, a pair of smart boxing gloves, a smart punching bag, a smart protective cup system, a smart protective headgear, smart Thai pads, a smart focus mitt, or a smart hand wrap. [0007] There is provided a sensor-equipped pair of smart training and fight Mixed Martial Arts and Boxing gloves, a smart punching bag, smart Thai pads, a smart focus mitt, a smart protective cup system, a smart protective headgear, and a pair of smart hand wraps, together with other training and fight equipment, all of which are structured with an inner layer of weaved conductive threads that, via an app, offer wireless signals of analysis, detailed readings, and coaching in real time to help fighters improve their striking style and overall performance.

[0008] The mechanism and system provides an app to send live feedback to a smartphone and fitness system used by fighters, trainers, judges, sports commentators, spectators in the audience, and fans in their respective homes to allow them to accurately track, analyze, and interpret the number of strikes thrown and landed by each fighter during a training session and in an actual fight.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Accordingly, the exemplary embodiments of the invention described below are set forth without any loss of generality to, and without imposing limitations upon, the claimed invention.

[0019] Referring now to FIG. 1, there is shown an image of a Mixed Martial Arts fighter 1 during a training session where fighter's 1 movements are being recorded and scanned by the present invention, generally identified as reference numeral 2. The hardware of the present invention provides a 360.degree. HD video camera 3 with infrared emitters, image sensors, and optical character recognition for better detecting motion and precision of the fighter's movements while engaged in a fighting match.

[0020] The mechanism and system also uses artificial intelligence software to count and decipher the number of strikes thrown and landed, and the speed and power of each strike. For better precision in tracking the fighter's movements, 360.degree. HD video cameras 3 are placed on every top corner of the octagon and boxing ring. The fighter 1 is striking a smart punching bag 4 while wearing a pair of smart UFC official fight gloves 5 outfitted with sensors and structured with an inner layer of weaved conductive threads. The sensors simultaneously send a wireless signal back to the motion interactive video recording and scanning mechanism 2, which then sends the received statistical data via an app to a smartphone 6 or a fitness system 7 to provide a detailed reading of the number of strikes thrown and landed by fighter 1, as well as a measurement of the speed and power of each strike landed on smart punching bag 4 in real time.

[0021] The smart UFC official fight gloves 5 are also outfitted with a personalized wrist pulse tracker 8 attached to the wrist area of the smart gloves 5 to track and interpret the fighter's 1 specific heart rate, resting heart rate, maximum heart rate and other unique signals and vital signs. The personalized wrist pulse tracker 8 also tracks, analyzes, and interprets the number of strikes thrown and landed by fighter 1 and provides a measurement of the speed and power of each strike thrown and landed. Personalized wrist pulse tracker 8 can be removed and reinserted in the smart gloves 5 at any time.

[0022] Referring now also to FIG. 2, there is shown an image of two UFC fighters 1 engaged in a fighting match, each wearing a pair of smart UFC official fight gloves 5 outfitted with sensors and structured with an inner layer of weaved conductive threads. Sensors simultaneously send wireless signals to a smartphone 6 and a fitness system 7 via an app in real time providing the statistical data collected every time the fighter 1 strikes his opponent. The statistical data also provides a detailed reading of the number of strikes thrown and landed by each fighter 1, and the speed and power of the strikes thrown and landed by each individual fighter 1. Moreover, smart gloves 5 send a wireless signal back to the motion interactive video recording and scanning mechanism 2, which then sends the received statistical data to a smartphone 6 and a fitness system 7 via an app in real time.

[0023] Referring now to FIG. 3, there is shown an image of two UFC fighters 1 engaged in a fighting match, each fighter 1 wearing a pair of UFC official fight gloves 5. Fighters 1 are also wearing a smart protective cup system 9 outfitted with sensors and structured with an inner layer of weaved conductive threads that simultaneously send a wireless signal to a smartphone 6 and a fitness system 7 via an app in real time whenever one fighter 1 is hit with an illegal low-blow to the groin area. Once the impact is registered, the system analyzes the data received from the signal sent by the smart protective cup system 9 to determine the accuracy and force of the low-blow and determines whether it is an illegal hit.

[0024] Referring now to FIG. 4, there is shown an image of two boxers 11 at the Olympic games each wearing a pair of smart boxing gloves 10. Each boxer 11 is also wearing a smart protective headgear 12 that can simultaneously send a wireless signal to a smartphone 6 and a fitness system 7 via an app in real time every time fighter 11 is punched on the head or face area. The smart protective headgear 12 is also outfitted with sensors and structured with an inner layer of weaved conductive threads that allow judges, trainers, fans, and sports commentators to receive a detailed reading of the number of accurate punches each boxer 11 receives to the head and face area.

[0025] Referring now to FIG. 5, there is shown an image of multiple spectators at a UFC fight, said fans being sent a round-by-round wireless transmission to their smartphone 6 and fitness system 7 via an app in real time. The transmitted information contains the statistical data collected, analyzed, and interpreted by the motion interactive video recording and scanning mechanism 2 and from the smart training and fight gear. The system processes all the statistical data and simultaneously sends the interpreted data to fans' smartphone 6 and fitness system 7 via an app in real time.

[0026] Referring now also to FIG. 6, there is shown an image of a main menu screen 13 of the motion interactive video recording and scanning system 2. An interface touch screen requests that its user select an area of interest. The user of the system selects which particular statistical data he wants to view. Alternatively, he can select and track all the statistical data that is obtained, analyzed, and interpreted by the system which includes the number of strikes thrown and landed by fighter 1, such as the number of jabs, hooks, uppercuts, elbows, knees to the body or face, spinning elbows, spinning punches, punches, take downs, or any other strikes. The system may also access other related statistical data for tracking and analysis, including the part of the fighter's 1 body on which the strike landed.

[0027] Since other modifications and changes varied to fit particular--operating requirements and environments will be apparent to those skilled in the art, the invention is not considered limited to the example chosen for purposes of this disclosure, and covers all changes and modifications: which do not constitute departures from the true spirit and scope of this invention.
